Willie Moseley

HAMPTON " Mr. Willie James Moseley, age 79, a resident of Hampton, passed away surrounded by his family at his residence, Saturday evening, November 14, 2009, following an extended illness.



Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Tuesday afternoon, November 17, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Hampton.



Mr. Moseley was born May 25, 1930, in Hampton and was a son of the late Joyce Carrol J.C. Moseley and the late Anne Viola Priester Moseley. He retired from Westinghouse after forty-two years of service, having worked there from September of 1948 until 1990, retiring at the age of 60. A member of West End Baptist Church, he was a member of the deacon board and the churchs Brotherhood group. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.



Surviving are: his wife of fifty-six years, Mrs. Martha Rivers Moseley; a daughter, Bonnie Moseley Ginn (Jim) of Hampton; a son, Donnie Moseley (Charlene) of Hampton; two granddaughters, Lindsey Marie Ginn and Courtney Nicole Ginn, both of Hampton; two grandsons, Mark Moseley, Sr. (Amanda) of Hampton and Joshua Moseley of Hilton Head; and two great grandchildren, Mark Moseley, Jr. and Ayden Moseley, both of Hampton. There are three sisters, Annie Ruth Cuddles (D.P.), and Mary Ellen Tuten, both of Moncks Corner, and Myrtle Ann Youmans of Panama City, Florida; three brothers, Tom Moseley (Laverne) of Franklinton, Louisiana; Harold Moseley of Pennsylvania and James Archie Billy Moseley (Barbara) of Hampton. He was dearly loved by many nieces and nephews; and was loved and cared for by his dear friend and neighbor, Ronald Braxton. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
