Willie Hiers

Mr. Willie Eddie Hiers, 91, of 607 See See Road near Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Tuesday afternoon, August 25, 2009, at his residence under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Saturday morning, August 29, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Jack Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in Carters Ford Baptist Church Cemetery, 9774 Lodge Highway, Lodge.



Mr. Hiers was born July 19, 1918, in Colleton County and was a son of the late Joseph Earl Hiers and the late Zada Iva Trowell Hiers. A life long farmer, he spent the entirety of his life on the family farm in Colleton County. He was a member of Great Swamp Baptist Church.



Surviving are: two brothers, Clemson C. Hiers of Walterboro and Percy Hiers and his wife Valerie of Walterboro; two nephews, Glen Hiers and his wife Rose of Walterboro and Dennis Hiers and his wife Paula of Walterboro; four great nieces, Stacy Ellis, Megan Hiers, Jennifer Hiers, and Kristina Hiers; two great nephews, Jeremy Hiers and Josh Hiers; as well as a great great niece, Lillian Ellis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Hiers Herndon.



Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that friends make a charitable donation in his memory to the following: Hospice Care of South Carolina, 134 Bells Highway, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to, Great Swamp Baptist Church, 3396 Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
