Willie D Davidson

Mr. Willie D. “Billy” Davidson, Sr., 80, of Davidson Lane, Point South, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Mary Cleland Davidson, to whom he was married for 62 years.

Mr. Davidson was born April 5, 1935 in Aiken, South Carolina and was a son of the late Louis Davidson, Sr. and Fausteene Spires Davidson.  He served his country in the South Carolina Army National Guard.  He was the owner and operator of Davidson Refuse Collection Service.  He was a hardworking man, who enjoyed deer hunting, moose hunting in Canada, and loved playing football when he was in high school.  He loved building things and was known as a jack of all trades.   He loved taking his family on vacations, loved his grandchildren, and always let his wife do whatever she wanted to do.

He is survived by his three children:   Willie “Del” Davidson, Jr. and his wife June, Donna Davidson Williams and her husband Dennis, and Tina Davidson Smith and her husband Clyde; seven grandchildren:  Willie “Will” Davidson, III, Latesha Caroline Smith McComas and her husband Rob, Benjamin C. Stanley, Jr. and his wife Katrina, Darlene Smith Perkins and her husband T.J., Hance D. Stanley and his wife Ginny, April O. Williams Smith and her husband Eric, and Harley D. Williams; two great grandchildren: Kadence Stanley and Marshall Perkins; and a brother: Winston (Marilyn) Davidson.  He was preceded in death by two brothers: Louis Davidson, Jr. and Tracy Davidson.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 o’clock, Saturday morning, August 29, 2015, from the graveside in GIllisonville Baptist Cemetery, 10158 Grays Highway, Ridgeland.

The family will receive friends following the committal ceremony in the church social hall.
