EHRHARDT " Mr. William Patrick Pat Smoak, 66, formerly of Ehrhardt died Thursday morning, May 15, 2008, at Heartland Hospice in Columbia. He was the husband of the late Sybil Wiley Smoak.



Funeral services will be conducted 5:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, May 17, 2008, from Smoaks Baptist Church, 482 Lodge Highway, Smoaks. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.



Mr. Smoak was born August 3, 1941, in Beaufort and was a son of the late Francis Mendel Smoak and the late Miriam Ward Smoak. He was the retired owner of S and S Pest Control in Beaufort and was a member of Ehrhardt Baptist Church. Known as someone who never meet a stranger, he loved his family and life. He was an avid outdoors man, being an avid hunter and fisher.



Surviving are: a son, Rick Smoak and his wife Kimberly of Columbia; two daughters, Michelle McIver of Columbia and Patricia Smoak of Ehrhardt; two brothers, Mike Smoak of Stonewall, Louisinia and Jerry Smoak of Harleyville; and four sisters, Gwen Robertson of Ruffin, Janet Byrd of Summerville, Darlene Jones of Ashton, and Connie Berblinger of Summerville. There is one granddaughter, Rachel Smoak.



Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, memorials may be made in his memory to: Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.



Family and friends are invited to call from 6:00 until 8:00 this Friday evening at the funeral home.
