Mr. William Henry Purcell, 77, of 1435 Francis Street, Walterboro, died Sunday, October 26, 2008, at his residence under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina. He was the widower of Joyce Annette Weaver Purcell.
Mr. Purcell was born February 26, 1931, in Vidalia, Georgia, and was a son of the late James Ludas Purcell and the late Margaret Marion Matthews Purcell. He served his country in the United States Air Force for thirteen years where he served in the Korean Conflict and achieved the rank of Tech Sergeant. He was a retired mechanic and welder and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are: three daughters, Martha Cronkhite of Menasha, Wisconsin, Mary Alice Lynch of Walterboro, and Rebecca Ampuero of Walterboro; a sister, Betty McSwain of Watkinsville, Georgia; and one grandson, Eric William Purcell.
Funeral services will be held at a later date, Beaufort National Cemetery.
