WALTERBORO " Mr. William Black Price, 63, of 201 Mill Street, Walterboro, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Grace Advent Christian Church. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon from 1 pm until the hour of service at the church.
Mr. Price was born June 21, 1946 in Colleton County and was a son of the late Henry Sherwood Price, Sr. and Mary Drawdy Price. He was a former manager of the Dogwood Hills Country Club Pro shop and was an Auctioneer Assistant. Mr. Price served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church and a proud member of the Walterboro AA Group. Known to many as Uncle William, he loved his family, enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially talking trash after a fishing trip. He had a heart of gold and was a great salesman.
Surviving are: his nephew, HS Price, III and his wife Teresa Lynn Evans Price of Walterboro; cousins, Karen Price Windham and her husband Jim of Greenville, Matthew Richard Price and his wife Jessi of Walterboro, Lucien Brady Price and his wife Ashleigh of Florida, Alicia Morgan Price of Walterboro and Terron Lairson and her husband Jay of Summerville; aunts, Karen Hiers and her husband Tommy of Walterboro and Jeanine Price of Walterboro; and great nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Price, Laura Massie, Taylor Peters, Ashleigh Windham, Bradley Price, Ronnie Price, Emmie Price, Lizzie Price, Lauren Price, Madison Price, Martha Price, Jacob Lairson and Jeremiah Lairson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Sherwood Price, Jr.; stepmother, Polly Ackerman Price; stepbrothers, Ronald Guy Ackerman and Bruce Edward Ackerman; and an uncle, Richard F. Price.
