William K. Padgett, Sr.

Mr. William Kenneth Padgett, Sr., known by all as “Billy”, age 88, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday afternoon, October 3, 2022, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

Born December 3, 1933, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Kenneth Ray Padgett and the late Lois Drawdy Padgett.   Billy was a graduate of Walterboro High School, Mars Hill Junior College and the University of South Carolina.   He served in the United States Army having been stationed in France.   He, for forty years, owned and operated the iconic B P Motors Sales on Jefferies Boulevard in the heart of Walterboro.   During those years of service, Billy made countless friends through his work and service to a community he dearly loved.   He was a businessman and friend.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro.

Surviving are: his wife of sixty-three years, Mrs. Wilma Ree Graham Padgett of Walterboro.  He was preceded in death by his son, William “Bill” Kenneth Padgett, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to: Live Oak Cemetery, Post Office Box 1351, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.

The Relatives and Friends of Mr. and Mrs. William K. Padgett, Sr. are invited to attend Billy’s funeral service which will be conducted at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, October 6, 2022, from the graveside in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.   The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating.
