Mr. William James Morrison, Jr., affectionately known by many as Bill, age 92, entered into rest Sunday, December 14, 2014, at his home of Oak Circle in Walterboro. He was the loving husband of the late Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Morrow Morrison.
A celebration of his life will be conducted 4 oclock Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2015, from Green Pond Baptist Church, 12317 Green Pond Highway in Green Pond. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony in the church sanctuary.
Born July 21, 1922, a son of the late William James Morrison, Sr., and the late Claire Estelle Cook Morrison, he was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania having made the Lowcountry of South Carolina his home since 2003. He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II having been a Chief Petty Officer. He was a faithful member of Green Pond Baptist Church and was retired after a dedicated and distinguished career with AT&T Telephone.
Surviving are: his daughter, Judy Morrison DiGrazia of Walterboro; a brother, John Cook Morrison of Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Claire Morrison Wrigley of Minnesota and Margaret Morrison Kulp of Pennsylvania. There are three grandchildren, Julie Ann Morrison McKeever and her husband Andrew of Pennsylvania, Bruce Anthony Blackwell and his wife Kimberly of Warner Robbins, Georgia, and Jeanette Dorothy Morrison Vergis and her husband Peter of Pennsylvania as well as seven great grandchildren, Ryan, William, Jack, Nicholas, Peter, Brody, and Holden that also survive.
