William Maloney, Sr.

Ruffin, South Carolina

Mr. William Hayes Maloney, Sr., age 73, of Ruffin, entered into his eternal rest Tuesday evening, April 9, 2019, at his daughter’s home in Rincon, Georgia while surrounded by his loving family and under hospice care.  William was the loving husband of thirty-five years at the time of her untimely death in 2004 to the late Mrs. Carolyn “Cook” Elaine Salley Maloney.

Born July 12, 1945, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late William Jesse Maloney and the late Minnie Stephens Maloney.  He served our country faithfully in the United States Army, entering in 1963, having served overseas and receiving the Marksman Rifle medal.   William was a well-known and dearly loved icon in the Walterboro Community.  He was known far and wide for his hard work and excellent skill at his work.  He was the founding owner of Maloney Concrete Products, having over the years through his strong work with and dedication created a company that made him proud.  He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving and continuing his legacy are: a son, William Hayes Maloney, Jr. and his wife Ka’Keshia of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three daughters, Dionne Monica Jenkins and her husband Gerald  of Rincon, Georgia, Carol Willyn Maple of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Erica Renee Hall and her husband Jerry of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, Keith Maloney; and four sisters, Shirley Bellamy, Jessie Ree Maloney, Arnell Elliott, and Marlene Sellars and her husband Riley.  There are also twelve grandchildren, Bernard and Deonte (Courtney) Jenkins, Malik and Assata Black, Makena, Amari, and Amiri Maple, Akiriah, Ivan, and Aniyah Maloney, Skyler and Aerin Hall; and two great grandchildren, Aliyah and Alana Jenkins also surviving.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Ellis (Harry) and Annett Inabinett; and a brother, Robert Maloney.

His Funeral Service will be conducted 11 o’clock Saturday morning, April 13, 2019, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The Reverend Norman Jamison, officiating.   Interment will follow in Old Miss Memorial Cemetery, Augusta Highway, Smoaks.
