Mr. William Earl Gaskins, 71, 616 Shiloh Loop, Ruffin, died Friday morning, July 31, 2009, at his residence under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2009, from the graveside at Gaskins Family Cemetery, 616 Shiloh Loop, Ruffin.
Mr. Gaskins was born May 3, 1938, in Washington, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Marcus Dvid Gaskins and the late Dora Lumpton Gaskins Gerard. He served his country in the United States National Guard and was a former truck diver and retired mechanic. He will be remembered for his love of mechanic work on all types of motors and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his mother of New Bern, NC are: his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Durr Gaskins; four sons, Johnnie Gaskins, Ronnie Gaskins, William Gaskins, Jr., and George W. Gaskins all of New Bern, North Carolina; four step-sons, Jo Jo Wobbleton of Walterboro, Donnie Steigler of North Carolina, Perry Steigler of Ruffin and Warren Steigler of Williams; three step-daughters, Tina Blair of SC, Towanda Pace of Tennessee, and Rhonda Harris of Georgia; a sister, Polly Griffin of New Bern, NC; two grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew.
