Mr. William Shane Bridge, 51, of St. George, entered into rest Wednesday morning, April 8, 2026, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Born November 21, 1974, in Lexington, South Carolina, he was a son of Rose Mary Bridge Stewart and the late Maxwell Lloyd Bridge. Shane attended the University of South Carolina and worked a long career in law enforcement. He was a deputy with Dorchester County Sheriffs Department and also worked as a Police Officer at The Citadel and Trident Technical College of the Lowcountry. He had also worked at various boat manufactures throughout the Lowcountry and had also worked and dearly loved his time at GEHL Foods in Walterboro. An avid outdoorsman, he will be forever remembered for his love of fishing. He was a member of Indian Field United Methodist Church in St. George and had also attended Bethel Baptist Church in Walterboro.
Surviving are: his wife of twenty-six years, Cristi Skelton-Bridge; his mother, Rose Mary Bridge Stewart and her husband William; three children, Maxlin Bridge of Virginia, Zack Bridge of Eutawville, and Wage Hiott (Lindsay) of Rosinville; a sister, Phyllis Bridge Whitley of Walterboro; a brother, Johnny Bridge (Scott Brokaw) of Florida; two grandchildren, River Bridge and Colsen Hiott; two nephews, Justin Whitley (Taiesha) and Trent Bridge; and a niece, Erica O’Quinn; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, April 11, 2026, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Dr. Wayne Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak in Cottageville. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 10 o’clock that morning at the funeral home.
