William Allan Beach

William Allan Beach, 73, of Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, November 3, 2022, at the Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Bluffton.

Born January 27, 1949, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Charles Harold Beach and the late Lula Mae Lane Beach. Allan served our country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps, having achieved the rank of Sergeant and serving during the Vietnam Conflict. His diligence in service allowed him the esteemed honor of serving in President Richard Nixon's Secret Service detail. Allan was elected by the people of Colleton County, South Carolina to serve as Sheriff in 2001 and he executed the oath if his office well and with all of his ability. Allan's career in law eforcement spanned some thirty plus years and during that time he had served as the lead investigator at Lieber Correctional Facility. He will always be remembered as a great outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He knew firearms and was an excellent marksman. Above all, he was a family man, devoting himself to the needs of his two beloved daughters and the grandchildren that he so dearly loved. He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Surviving are: two daughters, Katelyn Beach and Kayla Beach; a brother, Chuck Beach; five sisters, Terry Campbell, Nancy Fralin, Melody Hayes, Jodi McGuire,  and Denise Catterton; five grandchildren, Kristianna, Kaedon, Brody, Piper, and Makailah; and the mother of his children, Cindie York Beach.

Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon, November 10, 2022, from the Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort.
