Vivian Linder

Mrs. Vivian Garvin Linder, 86, of Smoaks, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, March 2, 2024, at Colleton Medical Center.  She was the wife of the late Leonard James Linder.

Born July 8, 1937, in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late Thurman Garvin and Louise Crosby Garvin.  She had worked at Smoaks Manufacturing and retired from DAYCO.  She was a faithful member of Buckhead Advent Christian Church.  Mrs. Vivian was an excellent cook and loved watching soap operas.  Most of all, she loved her family, especially her son, Steve, granddaughter, Lacey, and great grandchildren, Kolby and Amelia.

Surviving are: her children, Mary Jennings and her husband John of Sanford, North Carolina, Michael Linder and his wife Janice of Smoaks, Steve Linder of Smoaks, and Robert Linder of Sanford, North Carolina; grandchildren, Tonya McBride, Jamie Folk, Jr., Ashley Gillespie, Tracy Thomas, Angela Ruiz, Valerie Martin, Lacey Shinaberry and her husband Stephen, Crystal Chapman, Phillip Linder, Daniel Linder, and Aaron Linder; many great grandchildren, including Kolby Shinaberry and Amelia Shinaberry; and brothers, T. W. Garvin of Chapman, Walter Garvin of Moncks Corner, and Sammy Garvin of Summerville. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary; and sisters, Erma and Shirley.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Buckhead Advent Christian Church, 5251 Buckhead Road, Smoaks.  Interment will follow in Little Swamp United Methodist Church Cemetery, 17465 Hunters Chapel Road, Smoaks.
