Mrs. Virginia Rentz Doremus, known to everyone as “Virgie”, 95, of Ehrhardt, entered into eternal rest Saturday evening, June 20, 2015 at Pruitt Health Care in Bamberg. She was the widow of Clarence “Larry” Doremus, to whom she was married for 66 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock, Tuesday morning, June 23, 2015 at Ehrhardt Southern Methodist Church, Broxton Bridge Road, Ehrhardt, with Reverend John Hucks Jr. and Reverend Chris Sweatman. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Born November 13, 1919 in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Franklin and Mary Linder Rentz. She was a lifelong member of Ehrhardt Southern Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Young at Heart. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who centered her life around her family.
Surviving are: her son, Denny Doremus and his wife Skeet of Irmo; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rentz Doremus of Ehrhardt; grandchildren, Gary Doremus and his wife Tiffanie of Fairfax, Jason Doremus of Irmo, DeDe Doremus Anderson and her husband Kevin of Williston, Misty Doremus McCully of Ehrhardt, and Thomas Doremus, II of Ehrhardt; nine great grandchildren, Austin and Cade Cope, Ryley Anderson, Harper and Maddy McCully, D.G, Nick, and Sydney Doremus and Emma Grace Doremus. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Doremus, Sr.
