Viree Deloach Brown

Mrs. Lilly Viree DeLoach Brown, 71, of Estill, entered into eternal rest Monday evening, February 28, 2022 at her residence.  The oldest of seven children born to the late Joe and Doris Tuten DeLoach, she was born March 10, 1950 in Allendale.

Viree is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Wayne Brown, Sr.; daughter, Sheila Brown Odom; son, Robert Wayne Brown, Jr. and his wife Felecia; two that were like hers, Kevin Johnstone and Patty Kollar; grandchildren, Mallorie McKasky (Joseph), Charles L. Odom, III (Madison), Robert Wayne Brown, III, and Bryon Gerard Brown; great grandchildren, Olivia Katherine, Ellis Joan, Jackie Viree, Charles L. Odom, IV, and Carter Banks Odom; siblings, Juanita Freeman, Joe DeLoach (Betty), David Deloach (Stephanie), Kathy Dempsey (Willie), Virginia Douglas (Buddy), and Mary Cooper (Mark); and brother-in-law, Raymond Brown (Polly).  There are 42 nieces and nephews and their spouses and 41 great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.  She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charles L. “Chuck” Odom, II; and a brother-in-law, Gene Freeman.

Viree retired from DHEC where she worked in Family Planning for over 25 years.  She was a member of Steep Bottom Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Lillie Chapter No. 27.  She loved all of God’s creation, especially her flowers, hummingbirds and the mountains which brought her great joy and peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Steep Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2022 at Steep Bottom Baptist Church, 2035 Steep Bottom Road, Estill.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
