Viola Thompson Dubose

Mrs. Gladys Viola Thompson DuBose, 81, of Round O, entered into rest Sunday evening, April 19, 2020.

Born February 25, 1939, in Hemmingway, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ealon Sidney Thompson and the late ODine Eaddy Thompson.   She was a retired registered nurse.

Surviving are: two sons, Patrick Leyon Cartin and his wife Terri of Charleston and David Samuel Cartin and his wife Diane of Round O; four brothers, Leroy Thompson, Ealon Sidney Thompson, II, Barry Thompson, and Ernie Thompson; two sisters, Alva Dean Cartin and Janice Kinard.  She is also survived by a large and loving host of extended family to include grandchildren, Troy Huseman, Erwin Huseman, Rory Huseman, Emmalee Slatten, Amye Stivender, and Craig Stivender; and several great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by a son, Nortin Sidney Cartin; and longtime companion, Anthony Martin “Tony” Plazar.

In consideration of the extraordinary circumstances associated with the Coronavirus, the family will hold a private funeral service for Mrs. DuBose.
