Victor Clark Hughes

Mr. Victor Clark Hughes, 65, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday morning, February 13, 2026, at Pruitt Health Care in Estill. He was the son of the late Henry Hughes of Walterboro, SC and Kathleen Harris of Andalusia, AL.

Clark grew up in Walterboro and very much enjoyed sports, playing on local baseball and softball teams. He loved the great outdoors, especially fishing the many rivers and lakes of the low country. He was also a big fan of NASCAR racing. Clark was a very talented carpenter and roofer by trade.

Clark is survived by his wife Rhonda Hughes of Walterboro, SC; his daughters Katie Hughes of Walterboro, SC; Holly McCrary of Ruffin, SC; and his son Michael Irick of Gaston, SC; his brother Michael Hughes of Andalusia, AL; and his sister Debra Cartwright of Pace, FL.

Clark chose to be cremated at the end of his journey here on earth. Since Clark loved the outdoors so much, a memorial service will be held on Saturday March 7th 11:00 am at Colleton State Park 147 Wayside Lane, Walterboro SC. Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service to share their memories of the life of Victor Clark Hughes.
