Victor Cattles

Mr. Victor Carroll Cattles, 81, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Colleton Medical Center.

Born December 27, 1943, in Charleston, he was a son of the late Martin Lucius Cattles and Lillian Cammer Cattles.  He was a retired US Marshal in North Charleston, retired fireman for North Charleston Fire Department, and was also a retired construction worker.  Vic was a well-known man who loved people and people loved him. He was an excellent storyteller and jokester, always wanting everyone to be happy and laughing.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cutting grass, and loved animals.  Everyone in the family could always rely on Vic and he always put his family first.  Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and was always proud of them and loved his great grandchildren.

Surviving are: his daughter, Teresa Looper of Bowman; grandsons, Tripp Looper, Jarrett Looper (Allison), and Jonathan Looper; great grandchildren, Easton Looper, Lillian Mae Looper, Gibbs Looper, Hampton Looper, Annie Ruth Looper, Ellie Looper; special friends, Brandy Looper, Sara Lawrence, and Bri Wiles; brother, John R.M. Cattles of Goose Creek; sister, Shirley Mae Cattles Ward of Goose Creek; many nieces and nephews; and his special fur buddy, “CJ”.  He was preceded in death by his son, Rocky Cattles; the mother of his children, Sadie Ruth Benton; and his siblings, Lucius Allen Cattles, Glenn Edward Cattles, Jimmie Rogers Cattles, Steven Jerome Cattles, Myrtle Rose Cattles Stoneback, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock, Friday afternoon, February 7, 2025, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow at Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak, Red Oak Road, Cottageville.
