Born June 13, 1949, a native of Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Edrick H. Lyons, Sr. and the late Margaret Barnes Lyons. Mashawville was her home, but during the course of her married life she had traveled and lived many places to include Adak, Alaska due to her husband's enlistment with the United States Navy and career. At her church, she was formerly a Sunday School Teacher and had served on numerous committees within the church. She was employed by McPhearson, Inc. and worked alongside her sister for many years at the Gingerbread House Day Care Center in Walterboro. She will be fondly remembered for her love of traveling with her husband, daughter, grandson, sister and brother-in-law to the Great Smokey Mountains.

Surviving are: her husband of forty-six years, Mr. Sammie Terry Sanders; a daughter, Samantha Sanders Davis of Mashawville; a sister, Margaret Lyons Bunton and her husband Gene of Walterboro; and a brother, Joseph Leigh Lyons and his wife Donna of Smoaks. There is one grandchild, Jaylynn Conner Davis that also survives as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Lynn Sanders in 1996 and a brother, Edrick H. Lyons, Jr.

The family wished to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Agape Hospice, especially Nurse Meoldy Craven for the love, care, and compassion they diligently provided to Vicky and the Sanders family.
