Biography

Mrs. Vickie Ann Schmitt, 60, of Nomad Lane, Walterboro, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Roper Hospital in Charleston. She was the widow of the late Ricky Schmitt.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, April 28, 2011 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. Visitation will be held from 11 am until the hour of service.

Mrs. Schmitt was born June 22, 1950 in Aiken County and was a daughter of the late Clary Harris and Mable Moyer Harris. She will always be remembered for her love of gardening and going to flea markets and for spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are: her children, Michelle Lynn Schmitt of Walterboro, James Wesley Garvin of Orangeburg and James Edward Garvin of Ritter; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Ann Blocker; brother, Ronald Harris; and a sister, Lynette Hunter.
