Vernelle Beach Hendrix

Biography

Vernelle B. Hendrix transitioned to her eternal home on April 13, 2014 at St. George Health Care in St. George, SC. Born December 8, 1914 in Colleton County, to the late Hill B. and Nellie Fox, she had one sister, the late Miriam B. Clark. She was married to the late Fred D. Hendrix. She was a retired secretary for First Baptist Church in Walterboro, SC working in this capacity for over thirty-seven years.

Survivng are: her daughter Joyce and her husband Del and grandson Edward Sargent of Purcellville, VA, niece Judy Clark Jackson of Daniel Island, SC, and nephew Rudy and his wife Libby Clark of Walterboro, five grand nieces, three grand nephews, and many great, great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 15, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to the following: Hospice Care of South Carolina, 134 Bells Highway, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to, Fox Family Cemetery, care of Mr. William S. Reeves, 7124 Pierce Road, Ridgeville, South Carolina 29472.
