Velda Phillips

Mrs. Velda Carroll Phillips, 71, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday morning, May 7, 2021 at Pruitt Health Care Center in Walterboro.

Born September 23, 1949 in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late James Carvel Carroll and Helen Campbell Carroll.  She was a retired office manager and was a member of Jacksonboro Baptist Church.

Surviving are: her husband of 46 years, Jesse Hamilton Phillips, III of Walterboro; sister, Ruby Linda May of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Linda Phillips Poole of Green Pond and Debra Phillips Drew and her husband Scooter of Jacksonboro; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Carroll; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Poole.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Jacksonboro Baptist Church, 114 Wisteria Road, Green Pond, South Carolina 29446.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, May 15, 2021 at Jacksonboro Baptist Church, 14749 Charleston Highway, Jacksonboro.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.
