Tony Smith

Mr. Tony Darrell Smith, 52, of Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Joyce Ring Smith.



Funeral services will be conducted 5 oclock Thursday afternoon, June 17, 2010, from the graveside at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro with The Reverend Ralph Warren officiating.



The family will receive friends following the committal ceremony at the cemetery.



Mr. Smith was born January 1, 1958, in Jesup, Georgia and was a son of Mrs. Lizzie Grimes Smith and the late Mr. Harry Russell Smith, Sr. He was a lathe operator with Walterboro Veneer and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Tony was a good hearted person who loved people and children. In his younger years, he played football with the Walterboro High School Bulldogs during the same season that they won regional finals.



Surviving in addition to his mother of Walterboro; are a brother, Harry Russell Smith, Jr. of Sandersville, Georgia; and a sister, Melissa Smith Warren of Smoaks; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Nickie Dwain Smith.
