Tommy Layden

Sidney Thomas Layden, IV, 51, oF Brunson, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, September 20, 2026, at the Lowcountry Community Hospice in Summerville.

Born February 20, 1975, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of Debra McPerson Stone and the late Sidney Thomas Layden, III. Tommy, as he was known by many, lived a life full of passion, love, and immense talent. He was known for his remarkable vocal talents, sharing his gift of song with all who had the privilege of hearing him.

He is survived by his beloved husband, Brandon Michael Layden; three adored children, Caitlin Layden, Rachel Layden, and Tristan Layden; a brother, Chris Peters and his wife Nicole, of Estill; and a sister, Angie Peters Waltz and her husband Lee, of Little Swamp.

Sidney’s warmth and kindness extended beyond his immediate family, encompassing a host of dear friends, including Connie Witt, who he considered as extended family. His legacy of love and friendship will be long remembered by all who knew him.
