Timothy La Presta

Biography

Mr. Timothy Michael La Presta, affectionately known by all as "Tim" , age 64, of Dairy Lane, Cottageville, entered into rest Saturday evening, August 9, 2014, at his residence.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, August 16, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.

A celebration of Tim's life will follow during a barbeque cook out at 5 o'clock that afternoon at 26 Angelic Lane (off Rhode Drive) Cottageville.

Born February 14, 1950, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, he was a son of the late Andrew Leo La Presta and the late Elizabeth Ann Fennisey La Presta. He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era having enlisted February 18, 1971. As an Aviation Electrician First Class, his home port was Whippey Island, Washington where he served with the VAQ129 Squadron. He retired from active duty in 1990 with the rank of Petty Officer First Class. Coming from Mississippi, he made the lowcounty of South Carolina his home for the past ten years, having attended Cottageville Baptist Church. One of his greatest loves in life was his 1953 Mercury.

Surviving are: a son, Michael La Presta of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers, Richard La Presta of Cottageville and Don La Presta of Ohio; three sisters, Patty Perez of Cottageville, and Karen La Presta and Andrea Spencer both of Ohio.
