Timothy Mott

Mr. Timothy Wayne Mott, 68, of Ridgeland, passed away Monday afternoon, August 30, 2021, at Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Born February 17, 1953, in Charleston County, he was the son of the late  Norman Wendell Mott and late Agnes Orene Brown Mott.  He served his country in the SC Army National Guard.  He was an employee of Brunson Building Supply-Ace Hardware in Hampton.  Mr. Mott was a member of Gillisonville Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing and cooking and was a master of grilling and making chicken bog.  He was a unique individual and lovable curmudgeon.  Timothy was proud to let everyone know he was from the Lowcountry of South Carolina.  He was a member of the American Legion in Hampton, SC as well as Bayport, MN.

Surviving are children, Cameron Mott (Carrie) of Little River, SC  and Amy Mott of Albermarle, NC; brother, Wendall Mott of Walterboro, SC; sister, Norma Tekell of Nashville, TN; a granddaughter, Olivia Mott: his special companion, Janet Rickenbaker, as well as several loved nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Roland Mott; and a son, Stephen Bryan Mott.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, September 18, 2021, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, Varnville- Hampton Chapel.

The family will receive friends following the service.
