Mr. Thomas Simpson, 80, Murrells Inlet, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Garden City, SC.

Tom was born May 3, 1933 in Los Angeles, California and was the son of the late Thomas P. Simpson and Rilla Dennis Simpson. He and his wife, Mary, grew up and went to school together in Woodbury, New Jersey. He practiced law there for over 40 years and served his country in the United States Army, having served in the US and Germany. Tom grew up on The Woodbury Country Club Golf Course and often “played” in the sand trap. He loved the game and played from the age of 8. He was best known in Woodbury and the Philadelphia areas in recognition and continual love and dedication to the Game of Golf. He received a special award for his many victories at the Woodbury C.C. for The Club Championships over the years and for folding the Course Record.

Surviving are: his wife, Mary Simpson of Murrells Inlet; daughter, Janice Marie Simpson of Magnolia, New Jersey; son, Tom Gerard Simpson of Charleston; and grandchildren, Becky Noble, Richard Noble and Jeremiah Clark, all of New Jersey.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, New York 10001-6792.
