Thomas Harold Robertson

Mr. Thomas Harold Robertson, 78, of Walterboro, entered into rest early Friday morning, October 4, 2024, at his residence. Born May 10, 1945, in Ruffin, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Govan and Ruby May Robertson.  He served faithfully in the United States Navy and was a retired shop supervisor from the South Carolina Highway Department.  Harold was an avid golfer as well as was a proficient card player, participating weekly in a friendly round of Poker with his friends.   He was often seen in the background of his wife’s iconic business in Walterboro, H & D Grocery, where often he was seen doing just as Della would instruct him to do.

Surviving are: his wife of fifty-six years, Mrs. Idella Stanfield Robertson; a sister-in-law, Patricia S. Utsey and her husband Glenn of Walterboro; a brother-in-law, Franklin Stanfield of Savannah; and two first cousins whom he was raised with, Mary Grace Robertson and Horace Robertson.  He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, Theresa N. Hodges, Katrina Neumann, Mark Stanfield, Craig Stanfield, Jamey Copeland, Trent Copeland, Skip Utsey, Madison Utsey, Margaret Craven, Missy Stanfield, H.B. Stanfield, and Chris Stanfield,  as well as a host of extended great nieces and nephews as well as countless cousins; a special friend Carl Craven and his family, who he spent every weekend hunting with in Green Pond.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to: The American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.

Burial services will be private.
