Mr. Thomas Addison Jones, III, known as “Tommy”, 59, of Hendersonville, entered into rest Tuesday morning, July 15, 2025, in Ridgeland, SC.
Born February 4, 1966, in Beaufort, South Carolina, he was the son of Thomas A. Jones, Jr. and the late Mary Beverly Jones. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry D. Jones and his daughter, Casey Jones Ramos. Tommy was an expert carpenter for over 30 years. He was most recently an employee of Jonhson Builders LLC. He was a member of Hendersonville Baptist Church and had a strong faith that sustained him through the good and the bad times. He loved spending time outdoors and in his free time could usually be found “down at the river”. Tommy had a big heart and loved his family very much. His sense of humor and quick wit could easily bring a smile to your face. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Surviving in addition to his father of Hendersonville are: a daughter, Brittany L. Jones of Beaufort; two sons, Dillan M. Jones and Dakota M. Powell, their mother and Tommy’s wife, Helen Powell Jones, all of Yemassee; a sister, Tisha M. Broach (Eddie) of Elgin; his partner, Anita V. Alford of Ridgeland; three stepchildren, Joel V. Alford, II, Anna E. Alford and Amber D. Alford; and five grandchildren, Brooklyn S. Ramos and Josie Q. Moss, David Powell, Raeylyn Powell, and Zarriah Powell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Details for his memorial service are incomplete at this time and will be announced. The family also intends to spread his ashes on the Combahee River, a place where his soul often found peace.
