Theresa Mattson Linder

Biography

Mrs. Theresa Ann Mattson Linder, 62, of Coolers Dairy Road, Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Monday morning, on the date of her mother's birthday, April 18, 2011, at Colleton Medical Center. She was the widow of the late Edward L. Linder.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, April 20, 2011, at The Chapel of The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home.

Theresa was born October 10, 1948 in Charleston and was a daughter of the late Demal I. Mattson, Sr. and the late Adaline Jones Mattson. She graduated from Bishop England High School and received her B.S. degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. Theresa dedicated 40 years of service in the community as a nurse, ending her career at The Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro. She devoted more than twenty years of her nursing career to helping those who needed long-term care. She was an auxiliary member of the Walterboro Chapter of the Elks Lodge, #1988, where her husband, the late Edward Linder, served as an officer and as Exalted Ruler for four years.

Surviving are: two step-sons, Ted Linder of Nashville, TN and Greg Linder of Walterboro; a brother, Demal I. Mattson, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Mary Frances Mattson and her husband, Gregory L. Anderson of Sandy Springs, GA; five grandchildren Brandon Linder and his wife Nikki of Pensacola, FL, Richard Linder of Pensacola, FL, Jessica De La Vina and her husband Angel of New Orleans, LA, and Cash and Jacob Cottrell of Lakeland, FL; two great-grandchildren, Willow and Silas Linder; longtime devoted friends, Martha and George Heape of Green Pond; nieces and nephews, Meredith Lynn Seibert and her husband Michael, Demal I. Mattson, III, Caroline Mattson Mason and her husband Timothy, Michael E. Mattson and Lawton A. Mattson; great niece, Brynna Mason; and a great nephew, Zachary Mason. She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Vicki Linder Cottrell.
