Mr. Theodore Christoph Donnelly, Jr., affectionately known by many as Ted, age 80, of Enoch Road in the Hudson Mill Community near Ruffin, entered into his state of eternal rest Sunday evening, November 8, 2009, at the home of his son in the Greater Greenville area.



Funeral services will be conducted 1 oclock Wednesday afternoon, November 11, 2009, from Bethel United Methodist Church, 16147 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin, with The Reverend David Cox and The Reverend James Grubb officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.



Mr. Donnelly was born March 23, 1929, in Cheraw, South Carolina and was a son of the late Theodore Christoph Donnelly, Sr. and the late Mileta Montgomery Donnelly. He served his country faithfully in the United States National Guard and was a retired agent with Independent Life Insurance. He was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Ruffin Charge, where he formerly served on the Church Board and held the position as Chairman of The Board. He possessed an avid love for fishing, camping, and traveling.



Surviving are: his wife of forty-two years, Mrs. Betty Jean Ulmer Donnelly; a son, Wayne Gilmore and his wife Sharon of the Greater Greenville area; four grandchildren, Kimberly G. Hughes of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Nikki G. Burton of Walterboro, Lindsey D. Gilmore of Greenville, and Joshua C. Taylor of Walterboro; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Gilmore Taylor.
