Thelma Harden

Mrs. Thelma Herndon Harden, 95, of North Charleston, entered into eternal rest Thursday evening, November 30, 2023, at The Retreat of Summerville. She was the wife of the late Carlton Melvin Harden, Jr.

Born August 23, 1928, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Hollins Eugene Herndon and Ruby Craven Herndon.  She was a longtime member of Coastal Shores Baptist Church.  She dearly loved her family and her cat, “Tigger”.

Surviving are: her daughter, Sherri Harden Hancock and her husband Ray of Summerville; son, Robert Harden of Summerville; grandchildren, Christopher Harden, Sarah Vansouphet, Lyndsey Decker, Jason Phalen, and Ryan Phalen; and 9 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Bazzle; and a great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Thelma's name to Dorchester Paws, 136 Four Paws Ln, Summerville, SC 29483.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Monday morning, December 4, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
