Thelma Craven Gaskin

April 17, 1949 — November 4, 2017

Mrs. Thelma Louise Craven Gaskin, 68, entered into rest at her home in Walterboro surrounded by her family.  She was twice married, fist to the late Gruber Craven for twenty-one years and secondly to the late Henry Gaskin for seven years.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, November 8, 2017, from the graveside at Craven’s Rose Garden Cemetery, Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Thelma was born April 17, 1949, on Edisto Island and was a daughter of the late Charles William Pinckney and the late June Hamilton Pinckney.  She was a retired farmer and was a longtime associate of the Walterboro Walmart.  She enjoyed dancing, music, fishing, and gardening, and dearly loved animals.

Surviving are: her children, Talbert Craven, Samantha Craven, Carl Craven, Lorene Crapse and Irene Smith all of Walterboro, and a sister, Hazel Kinard of Smoaks.  There are fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren that also survive.  She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Craven.
