Mrs. Thelma DeWitt Broderick, 88, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, August 25, 2022 at Pruitt Health Care in Walterboro. She was the widow of the late Riddick A. Broderick, Sr., to whom she was married for 65 years.
Born August 2, 1934 in Ruffin, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Kline DeWitt and Pearl Crosby DeWitt. She was an active member of First Christian Church. Mrs. Thelma loved children and was “Mama” to the many children she took care of. If you knew her, you knew that she was always present and there for anyone that needed her and always showing love for everyone.
Surviving are: her son, Ricky Broderick of Walterboro; sisters, Patty Warren of Williams and Pauline Page of Maryland; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Thomas Broderick; daughter-in-law, Judy Broderick; sister, Betty Ruth Craven; and brothers, Robert DeWitt, Harold DeWitt, Jackie DeWitt, and John Marshall DeWitt.
Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Monday afternoon, August 29, 2022 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Entombment will follow in Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
