Thecla Daugherty

Ms. Thecla Bishop Daugherty, 101, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday morning, January 1, 2022 at Pruitt Healthcare in Walterboro.

Born September 7, 1920 in Chatham County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Morris “L.M.” Bishop, Sr. and Anna Virginia Richardson Bishop.  She was a retired minister of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.

Surviving are: her son, Lloyd Donald “Donnie” Daugherty (Lori Hiott) of Walterboro; grandson, Ethan Daugherty; niece, Ola Ann Lyons and her husband George of Walterboro; nephew, Curtis Cox; great nieces and great nephews, Curtis Cox, Jr., Celeste Lyons, Georgann McCall, Renee Welch, Debbie Satterfield, Dale Cox, and Maureen Gabrielli.  She was preceded in death by her son, Morris Ronald “Ronnie” Daugherty; siblings, Lloyd Morris Bishop, Jr. and Naomi Bishop Lane; niece, Melrose Cox; and great nephew, Terry Cox.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, January 5, 2022 at Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.
