Tara Michelle Carte

Tara Michelle Carte, 42, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, February 8, 2022, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

She was born January 5, 1980, in Fort Knox, Kentucky.  Tara’s greatest passion in life was her family and working alongside her husband.  They were active in worship at Nova Church in Walterboro prior to moving their membership to Colston Branch Baptist Church.

Surviving are: her husband, Michael L. “Mike-Mike” Carte, Sr.; her parents, Sherry and Thomas Nichols of Walterboro; two children, Mike Carte, Jr. and Ashlynn Carte; two brothers, David Avery, Jr. and Joseph Nichols; a grandfather, Billy McCubbins, Sr.; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis and Deloris Carte.  She is also survived by a large and loving host of aunts, uncles, and cousins and dear friends, Joey and Amanda Campbell.  She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy McCubbins; her great grandmother, Marian Hafer; a sister, Tia White, and aunt, Cindy M. Hale.

Funeral services will be 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, February 11, 2022, from Nova Church, 4955 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro.  The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 2 o’clock that afternoon at the church.
