Mrs. Ta Drawdy Evans, 75, of Jones Swamp Road, Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest Saturday evening, July 28, 2012, at her residence. She was the widow of Mr. Johnny Joseph Evans.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, July 31, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Ralph Warren and The Reverend Lewis Faulkenberry officiating. Entombment will follow in Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mrs. Evans was born September 11, 1936, a native of Colleton County she was a daughter of the late L. Cleveland Drawdy and the late Narcissa Hoats Drawdy. She was employed by CCX in Walterboro, which at its closing was known as New York Wire, for thirty-three years before her retirement as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
Surviving are: a son, J.J. Evans and his wife Sharon of Ladson; and three grandchildren, Amanda Evans, Brian Evans, and Trey Evans. There are two surviving sisters, Caroline Ellis of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Marie Robertson of Columbia.
