Sue Montjoy Driggers

Biography

After ten days without her beloved husband of 64 years, Anna Sue Montjoy Driggers went to join him and her Lord in heaven.

Funeral services will be held 3 pm Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 at Bedon Baptist Church, Walterboro. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Driggers was born September 2, 1921, in Enoree, SC. She was the daughter of the late William and Dea Lamb Montjoy. She was faithful, long-time member of Bedon Baptist Church. She taught children's Sunday school for many years, and was a member and officer of the Women's Missionary Union, the Hattie Francis Prayer Group and the Margaret Sims Sunday School Class.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmamma and great grandmamma. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren: helping with homework, sharing her childhood memories, her love of sports, love of family and love of God. She adored watching baseball and football, and cheered enthusiastically for her favorite team, the Clemson Tigers.

Surviving are her children: James M. "Jim" Driggers and his wife Joan, Miriam D. Humphries and her husband Thomas, and Philip D. Driggers and his wife Marie, all of Round O; brother, Charles Montjoy of Greenwood; brother-in-law, Alton Driggers of Round O; sister-in-law, Margaret T. Montjoy of Round O; sister-in-law, Juanita Cook Driggers of North Charleston; grandchildren, Tammy Varn, Kimberly McClellan, Lynn Beach, Jessica Humphries, Benjamin Humphries and Phil Driggers; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Mendel Driggers, a grandson, A. Jason Driggers, brothers, Frank, William, Ray, and Lawrence Montjoy and sister, Inez Hopkins.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bedon Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Wednesday evening at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro, 843.538.5408.
