Mr. Stanley David Moore, age 67, of Yemassee, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2021, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Born January 22, 1954, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late James O’Neal Moore and the late Jessie Blocker Moore. He dedicated a wonderful life to serving his fellow man in law enforcement. He attended the law enforcement academy in 1978, and upon his return to Hampton County began as a security officer with the Hampton County Bank. He then began with the Yemassee Police Department, becoming a beloved icon within his community and he retired from the department as acting Police Chief. Civically, he served on the committee for the Town’s annual Shrimp Festival which his late brother helped was instrumental in establishing. He was in every sense a family man. He centered his life around those he loved. He had a passion for shrimping and fishing and immensely enjoyed duck hunting. He was an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers.
Surviving are: his wife of forty-three years, Mrs. Rose Mock Moore; two children, Tracy Moore (Jeff) of Nixville and Travis Moore (Suryia) of Yemassee; a brother, Colin J. Moore of Yemassee; two sisters, Linda Goodwin (J.L.) of Yemassee and Patsy Mathis (Lenny) of Yemassee; three grandchildren, Hunter Wilson (Sydney), Bailey Wilson, and Summer Moore; a great grandchild, Sadie Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Nancy H. Moore and Geraldine Moore; as well as a beloved host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Robert Moore, Mack Moore, Louise M. Lemacks, Jackie Moore, and Jimmy Moore.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon, February 4, 2021, from Yemassee Baptist Church, 127 Salkehatchie Road, Yemassee. The Reverend Heyward Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Ebenezer Road, Yemassee. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 1:30pm that afternoon in the church sanctuary.
