Sidney Rivers

Mr. Sidney Tracy Rivers, 53, of Estill, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Colleton Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Dana Murdaugh Rivers.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will be held privately.

Mr. Rivers was born April 29, 1959 in Hampton County and was a son of Jack and Elsie Crapse Richardson. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was a retired Security Guard from Georgia Pacific. He loved the outdoors and tinkering with his tools, but most especially loved his family.

Surviving are: his parents, Jack and Elsie Richardson of Estill; sisters, Sheila Mixson of Estill and Denise Huffman and her husband Larry of Estill; a special friend, Ms. Suzette Alls of Hampton; and a step daughter, Haley Mixson of Varnville. He was preceded in death by a step sister, Katherine Cleland and step brothers, Jack Rivers and Eugene Rivers.
