Mrs. Shirley Hickman Wilson, 78, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday afternoon, March 20, 2017, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2017, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.
Born April 12, 1938, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Sheba Hiott Hickman. She was a retired registered nurse, having worked for many years for the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro before eventually retiring from the Colleton County Health Department. A Christian at heart, she will always be remembered for the care she gave to others as well as the love she possessed in her heart for her family and her beloved dog, “Daisy” who was her constant K9 companion in life. In her earlier years, Shirley enjoyed traveling to the beach and creating things in her own style of crafting.
Surviving are: two children, Conrad Edwin Wilson and his wife Natallia of Buckingham, Virginia and Denise Wilson of Black Mountain, North Carolina; a brother, Reggie Hickman and his wife Lenore of Walterboro; and a grandson, Gabriel.
