COTTAGEVILLE- Mrs. Shirley Ann Durr Houge, 68, formerly of Cottageville, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of George Albert Houge, to whom she was married for fifty-one years.
Funeral services will be held 11 oclock, Monday, June 30, 2008, at The Brice W. Herndon & Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow Glendale Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Houge was born December 30, 1939 in Charleston County and was a daughter of the late John Durr and Lottie Miller Durr. She was a retired employee of Stall High School, where she worked in the cafeteria and was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Cottageville.
Surviving are: her children, George Michael Houge and his wife Glenda of Beaufort, Shirley Jean Miller and her husband Danny of St. Helena Island, Sharon Marie Kratzer and her husband Jack of Cottageville and Violet Jane Owen and her husband Bobby of Jedburg; six grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Williams of North Charleston, Lottie Aldridge of North Charleston, Myrtle Gaskins of Ruffin and Beverly Rutledge of Orlando, FL; and brothers, John Durr of North Charleston and Tommy Durr of Summerville.
