Shirley Watkins Cook

Ms. Shirley Watkins Cook, 71, of Varnville, entered into rest Saturday morning, July 16, 2022, at her residence.  She was married to the late Mr. John Watkins.

Born March 10, 1951, in Varnville, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Freddie Marsh Edwards and the late Elise Devoe Smith Edwards.  Ms. Shirley was a loving mother who possessed a great love for her family and animals; especially her two Chihuahua K-9 companions; Tibby and Princess.

Surviving are: her son, Joseph M. Watkins (Lisa); brothers, Freddie M. Edwards, Jr. and Morris Edwards both of Varnville; a sister, Gail Stanley of Seabrook; grandchildren, Jessica Williams, Josh Williams, Jamie Williams, Blake Watkins and Tyler Watkins.  She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; a niece, Angela Hadwin; and numerous nephews and nieces.
