Sheila Anne Tommins Lydon, 73, of Smoaks, formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was received into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, July 1, 2024, in the comfort of her residence after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by loving family and her loving pet, Jelly.
Sheila was witty, intelligent, loving, caring, and strong. Her biggest and most important job was being a homemaker and loving mother to her seven children.
Mrs. Lydon is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Michael Patrick Lydon; sister, Denise Farmer (Richard); children, Michael Patrick Lydon, Jr. (Helen), James Lydon (Tasha), Katie Lydon, Thomas Lydon (Tara), Elizabeth Lydon, Jon Lydon, and Bella Lydon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Sheila’s name to the following: Smoaks Baptist Church, Post Office Box 101, Smoaks, South Carolina, 29481; or to, Little Swamp United Methodist Church, 16438 Hunters Chapel Road, Smoaks, South Carolina, 29481.
A memorial celebration honoring the life of Sheila will be held 2 o’clock, Tuesday, July 16, at Brice W. Herndon and Sons Walterboro Chapel.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
