Sarah Risher Jones entered into eternal rest on May 20, 2026, at home with her family following a long journey in the fight against cancer.
Sarah was born in Colleton County on March 13, 1939, and was a graduate of Walterboro High School. She was an active member of Zion Baptist Church and loved to visit The Well of Walterboro. She enjoyed time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She loved the spring and all the beautiful flower blooms as well as zooming around on her zero-turn mower. There were never enough purses, shoes, clothes or jewelry to be had. Through her life she demonstrated faith, true tenacity, and the ability to love deeply.
Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Jones; father, Nathan Risher; mother, Elizabeth Humphries Risher; brothers, Charles Risher, Glenwood Risher, and Benjamin Risher; and her step grandson, Timothy Eutaw Parker II.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Parker (Tim); stepdaughters, Teresa Kirkland (David) and Adana Evanson (Allen); grandchildren, Rebekah Makayla Marshall (Jacob), Justin Parker (Sara) , bonus grands Victoria Garris (Ken) and James "JJ" Jennings (Naz); step grandchildren, Eric Jackson (Heather), Tanya Nieto (Thom), Michael Kirkland (Masha), Shannon Lautner, Crystal Bailey (Neil), and Virginia Parker; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Marshall and Gabriella Marshall; step great grandchildren, Peyton Britt, Brooke Bailey, Hunter Bailey, Cheyenne Bailey, Kole Simmons, Blaze Parker, Magnolia Parker, Indiana Parker, Brantley Garris, Kennedy Garris, Riley Garris, Nicholas Kirkland, Hadley Jackson, Ella Jackson, Christian Sadler, Ethan Sadler, Mackenzie Sadler and Mariza Nieto.
Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Mary Hughes; brother, Willis "Billy" Risher; special friends, Faye Nettles, Edyce Griffin and Robin Mabry; special nieces, Kaye Jacobs, Rae Crosby, and Nicole Bryan; and nephew, Ricky Crosby. Lastly, she is survived by her amazing care team: Mona RN, Pam LPN, Bri Aid, & Mary Social Worker of Edisto Hospice.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, May 23, 2026, at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
