Sarah Catterton

Mrs. Sarah Lemacks Catterton, 94, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, September 23, 2021, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.  She was the wife of the late Dorsey Catterton.

Born November 22, 1926, in Colleton County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Lemacks and Jannie DeWitt Lemacks.  She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Walterboro.  She enjoyed cooking, square dancing, playing the guitar, and singing.

Surviving are: her daughter, Gloria C. Smoak and her husband William of Branchville; grandchildren, Christopher Shawn Smoak, William Bryan Smoak, and Michael Nolan Smoak; great grandchildren, Senna Lang Smoak, Ayrton Dat Smoak, Jillian Alise Smoak, Reagan Ella Smoak.  She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Catterton; brothers, Oliver Lemacks, Louis Lemacks, Joe Lemacks, and Edgar Lemacks; and sisters, Mattie Lemacks Walling, Ida Lemacks, Doris Lemacks Smoak.

Graveside funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2021, at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
