Sandra Mcalhaney Harrell

Mrs. Sandra McAlhaney Harrell, age 77, of Smoaks, entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, December 23, 2020, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.  She was the loving wife of the late Mr. Harry Benjamin Harrell, Sr.

Born August 30, 1943, in Ruffin, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Walter McAlhaney and the late Ethel Faye Barnes McAlhaney.   She retired as a head supervisor from Smoaks Manufacturing.  She was a faithful member of Buckhead Advent Christian Church, where for many years, she served as the church pianist and was active in the women’s group.  Sandra was full of life and active in many things.  She was a member of the H2U Group at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro and The Red Hat Society.  She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Smoaks Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star.   She immensely enjoyed traveling with her family and was her sister’s constant sidekick and companion through all of her travels.

Surviving are: two children, Sherri Harrell Cassidy and her husband Linny of Smoaks and Harry B. “Bubba” Harrell, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Smoaks; a sister, Lynah McAlhaney Crosby and her husband Danny of Smoaks; six grandchildren, Ashely Lyons (Burnett), Jamie Lyons (Ashley), Zach Cassidy, Tiffany Harrell Keller (Jon), Kimberly Harrell (Johnathan) and Ben Harrell (Amber); and five great grandchildren, Anna Keller, Avery Keller, Bryleigh Bishop, Leon Beck, and AnnaBelle Beck as well as her grand-dog, “Harley”; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to:  Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29605.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2020, in Buckhead Advent Christian Church, 5251 Buckhead Road, Smoaks.   The Reverend Dennis Hall officiating.   Interment will follow in Hagan Cemetery.  Due to current restrictions concerning the Coronavirus, entry into the church will be limited to immediate family; however, those attending will be ask to remain in their vehicles and listen to the services as they will be broadcasted.   Further instructions will be provided upon arrival to the church Saturday.
