Mr. Sammy Groves, 64, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 28, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Monday, April 7, 2014 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort.
Born November 26, 1949 in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Edward R. Groves and Ruby Ruth Crosby Groves. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired groundskeeper for Dogwood Hills Country Club. He attended Walterboro Church of God and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are: his sons, Christopher Murphy Williams and his wife Jamie of Walterboro and Samuel Heath Catterton of San Diego, California; brothers, Gene Groves of Walterboro, Harold Groves of Walterboro, Richard Groves of Walterboro, Ralph Groves of Walterboro, Ander Groves of Islandton, and Harry Groves of Walterboro; sister, Mary Ann Marinaro of Michigan; step children, Kimberly King of Walterboro, Michael Bevins of Summerville and C.J. Catterton of Florida; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Dan Groves and Howard Groves; and a sister, Annie Ruth Eason.
