Ms. Samantha Jean Cook, 44, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Born October 18, 1978 in Walterboro, she was a daughter of Charles Eddie Cook and Donna Jean Polk Lyons. She was employed by Atlantic Best Cleaning in Hilton Head. She was known for being independent, always having a strong work ethic and twirling her hair. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
Surviving are: her mother, Donna Polk Lyons of Walterboro; father, Charles Cook of Ruffin; children, Izack Cook (Breanna) of Summerville, Sammy Leyja, Jr. of Summerville, Rafael Leyja of Summerville, and Timothy Leyja of Holly Hill; sisters, Melissa Beach (Dillon) and Christine Torres; step-sisters, Patrice Mitchell, Maxine Prater, Joy Eaddy, and Tammy Welch; half-brother, Shannon Cook; step-brothers, Joseph “Leigh” Lyons, Jr. (Lindsay), David Stockman, Rick Aker, and Kenneth Aker; and her family-in-love, Lydia Leyja, Jose “Little Joe” Rivas, and Silvio Torres. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Joseph “Joey” Lyons, Sr., stepmother, Clara “Suzie” Cook; and her companion, William “Floody” Stephens.
Graveside funeral services will be held 4 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2022 at Hagan Cemetery in Smoaks.
The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3 pm at Berea Advent Christian Church.
