Mrs. Sally Vansant Williams, 73, of Islandton, entered into rest Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026.

Born on June 4, 1953, in Camden, New Jersey she was a daughter of the late Franklin Goldey Vansant and the late Ruth Mitchell Vansant. She left behind many beautiful memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Sally’s children were her whole heart and that love for children led her to become a beloved foster parent for 15 years; helping and being there for many children just as if they were her own. She worked for 35 years in the education system, retiring as a Media Specialist from the former Wade Hampton High School in Varnville. A gentle soul who filled our lives with love and kindness, Sally’s warmth will always be remembered as Mrs. Williams the librarian. She accomplished 3 different master’s degrees. She had a very strong relationship with God; always helping do His work and spreading His word to others in need. She was a very active member of Open Arms Fellowship, where you could find her every Sunday. She loved her mountain trips and sitting out on the beach listening to the waves. She was also a former Board Member for the Colleton County Memorial Library in Walterboro and had served as the Treasurer for her daughter’s girl scout troop.

Surviving to cherish her memories and to carry on her stories are: her husband of thirty-four years, Mr. Larry Williams; a daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Williams; a son, Michael “Mikee” Williams and his wife, Sarah.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Steven Vansant.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Hickory Grove Cemetery Fund, care of Debi Barnes, 2834 Bamberg Highway, Hampton, South Carolina 29924.

The Relatives and Friends of Mrs. Sally Vansant Williams are invited to attend her celebration of life service which will be conducted at 11 o’clock Friday morning, July 3, 2026, from Open Arms Fellowship, 402 Hoover Street North, Hampton. The Reverend James Porter officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony in the sanctuary of Open Arms Fellowship.
